Denise J. Rubin, 74, died Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at home. She was the beloved wife of David W. Pierce for 30 years. Born in Bronx, NY, a daughter of the late Milton and Miriam (Blau) Rubin, she had lived in Narragansett for more than 40 years, after living in NY. Denise was a member of Congregation Beth David. She was a speech and language pathologist for the Narragansett school system, retiring several years ago.
When she wasn’t busy traveling around the world, Denise helped manage Parcel of Paradise Farm in Charlestown RI. She was a brilliant and loving yoga instructor, found deep peace in gardening, and loved sailing and helping to rehabilitate horses.
Devoted mother of Geoffrey Pierce of New Bedford, MA, Keith Pierce and his wife, Brandy, of Pinehurst, NC, Morgan Pierce CAPT, DPT and his wife, Ali Pierce, Esq., of Johnston, RI, and cherished feline Bodhisattva. She was the sister of Norman Rubin of Newtown, PA and Michael Rubin of Sweden. Loving grandmother of Hayden and Nathan. Dear aunt of Joy Dawn Kupperstein, Cheri Fleisch, Sandi Schaeffer, Andrew Rubin, Justin Rubin and many cherished great nieces and nephews. Beloved friend and teacher to so many.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in SHALOM MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1100 New London Ave., Cranston. Shiva will be observed at the Pierce residence, 164 Caswell Street, Narragansett, RI, on Friday, Oct 24 – 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm; Sunday, Oct 26 – 2:00 pm – 4:00 PM and 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Shiva Service: 7:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Santana Center Horse Rescue, 862 Nighthawk Loop, Aberdeen, NC 28315.
