2024 Champions of Democracy Celebration—Annual Meeting

Let’s celebrate our work in 2024 and build momentum for 2025!  Please join us for our 2024 Champions of Democracy Celebration & Annual Meeting, from 5:30 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, October 10th at The Guild, 461 Main Street, Pawtucket.

This is our biggest event of the year, and we have a phenomenal program planned! Virginia Kase Solomón, the new President and CEO of Common Cause, will offer timely remarks on the state of American democracy.

We will also recognize three outstanding individuals for their contributions to civic life in the Ocean State:

• Dr. Taino J. Palermo, adjunct faculty at the Roger Williams University School of Law and co-founder of the Center for Indigenous Peoples Rights, will receive the Emerging Leader Award.
• Megan Hamlin-Black, former Rhode Island State Librarian and current director of financial strategy and planning at the Rhode Island Office of the Postsecondary Commissioner, will receive the Excellence in Public Service Award.
• David Pellegrino, former chair of Common Cause Rhode Island’s State Governing Board, and senior vice president, general counsel & chief risk officer at Navigant Credit Union, will receive the Distinguished Service Award.
