Join internationally acclaimed musician, interdisciplinary artist, and educator Claire Chase, flutists Marianne Sihvonen (Finland), Malin Sieberns (Germany), and Jessica Shand (Brown University Music & Multimedia Composition PhD candidate), and friends for a night of contemporary music for flutes and electronics featuring works from Chase’s 24-year commissioning project, Density 2036, alongside new graduate student compositions. This continuous set will be tied together by live electronic transformations of flute sound by Shand based on the compositional framework of Transmutations, a brand-new release out February 21, 2025.
This performance is produced by Jessica Shand with Jake Sokolov-Gonzalez. It is made possible by generous support from Density Arts, Brown Arts Institute, and the Brown University Department of Music. Admission is free and open to the public.
