Friendship Dolls were created to ease tension between the U.S and Japan after the Immigration Act of 1924. This act excluded East Asians from immigrating to the U.S. Hear about the exchange of Friendship Dolls between the United States and Japan and its cultural significance. Learn about how Rhode Island participated in the exchange! The talk will also feature an artifact from the Roger Williams Park Museum of Natural History’s archives.
