Join us on August 31st from 10 AM – 1 PM at Eric’s Place in North Providence, RI, for the Eric Place Stormwater Swale Revival! This volunteer day is dedicated to reviving the stormwater swale, removing overgrowth, litter, and debris.
Help WRWC River Rangers restore a Bio Swale installed years ago but until this year has had deferred maintenance. Bio Swales like this one at Eric Place are important pieces of Green Infrastructure, designed to capture, slow, and filter stormwater runoff from hardened city surfaces like streets and roofs. This swale at Eric Place helps keep pollutants and litter out of Lyman Pond, the Woonasquatucket downstream and beyond! We will be hauling away litter, invasive plant species, and other overgrown vegetation to help this swale function the way it was designed.”
