Imagining Growth: A Rochambeau Community Art Project

April 11 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Join Community Collaborative artist Cathren Housley at Rochambeau, where your own creativity can take root and grow. Our large scale collage of color and organic form will emerge from the collective vision of every participant. People of all ages and abilities are welcome, so bring the whole family! The completed work will climb the staircase wall from the Library’s main floor, as far as our imagination can reach.
Some of the painting techniques Cathren will teach are, creating gradient, spatter painting,  string painting, drip and tilt, creating textures and patterns, table cloth mono prints, and creating a vortex swirl.
The project will be ongoing from March 7 through May 9 on Friday afternoons, 3:30- 5 pm. Come to one or two sessions or come to all!
Cathren Housley is a multidisciplinary artist who has illustrated children’s books, designed best-selling gift products and produced award winning videos and animations. Since 2012 Housley’s creative goals have moved from personal expression to social expression. Her grant funded installations and programs now focus on community collaboration and the growing field of Arts and Health..
This project series, the 4th installation of Imagination Takes Flight, was made possible by the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts.
