Join the Brown Alumni Lifelong Learning program and the Brown Women’s Network for a virtual event with Lauren Zalaznick ’84, P’17, P’19, P’25 in conversation with Carlos Lejnieks ’00 about Lauren’s recently published book, Lettersfrom the Corporation of Brown University. This compilation of resignation letters from Corporation members spans the years 1764 to 2023. Together, they offer insight into the Corporation’s role throughout the University’s long history and mirror the nation’s significant social, cultural, and political shifts over more than 250 years. At the heart of this discussion is values — how they anchor institutions and individuals alike. While Brown has long been guided by principles and traditions, the University is now working to formally define its core institutional values. As Brown articulates its values and voice, these letters serve as an invitation to reflect on what shapes values, how they influence decision-making, and the lasting significance of higher education in a changing world. This free event will be livestreamed and recorded; to receive the link, please register. This event is online: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/letters-from-the-corporation-identity-power-and-the-value-of-higher-ed-tickets-1317587302089?utm-campaign=social&utm-content=attendeeshare&utm-medium=discovery&utm-term=listing&utm-source=cp&aff=ebdsshcopyurl
