Are you overloaded by daily stimuli? Saying yes to too many things? Do you sometimes wish to pause and simply be?
Mindful Movement is an exploration of conscious awareness in the present, inviting in curious thought that informs how we meet our bodies in space. We will explore body mapping, ideology around posture and balance and, of course, easeful, playful, and joyful movement. No prior movement experience is necessary! Come as you are with an open mind. This is a 5 class series. Participating in the full series is encouraged but drop-ins are welcome.
Garlan Jude Brosnahan (they/them) is a certified teacher (3yr 1,600hrs) of the Alexander Technique, a Usui reiki practitioner, performance creator and curator, and a forever and always student of movement and mindfulness, primarily with background in butoh, barre, tai chi, and movement for actors. They have taught private sessions, workshops, and group classes at organizations across New York City, Woodstock, NY, and Providence.
