Religious Nationalisms, Race and the End of Democracy

Join us, as we welcome Anthea Butler, Professor in American Social Thought, The University of Pennsylvania for this year’s K. Brooke Anderson Lecture.  A renowned historian of African American religion and American religious history, Professor Butler’s work explores race, politics and popular culture. Author of White Evangelical Racism: The Politics of Morality in America and frequent MSNBC contributor, she offers a vital perspective on religion in today’s world.  This event is co-sponsored with the Department of Religious Studies, the Office of the Chaplains and Religious Life, the Center for Race & Ethnicity in America, and the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity.
