The International House Film Club is screening: “The Breaking Ice”

Our next stop will be China.
We would like to invite you all to watch and discuss the Film ” The Breaking Ice’ directed by Anthony Chen. The film was selected for the Un Certain Regard section of the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. It was selected as the Singaporean entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 96th Academy Awards.

Young urbanite, Haofeng, a charming tour guide, Nana, and a personable but frustrated restaurant worker, Xiao, all bond quickly over a drunken weekend in the cold wintry Yanji, a city on China’s northern border. Confronting their individual traumas, their frozen desires slowly thaw as they seek to liberate themselves from an icy world.
