The International House Film Club to screen: The Class

After the fascinating and interesting EO on wednesday we would like to invite you to watch and discuss the film “The Class” , directed by Laurent Cantet, based on the 2006 novel of the same name by François Bégaudeau. The novel is a semi-autobiographical. The film received a unanimous Palme d’Or at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival. The Class was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film 2009.
The life of a French schoolteacher working at a high school in a tough neighborhood of Paris. Cultures and attitudes often clash in the classroom.
