The Sun is Shining: A One Woman Show about Sissieretta Jones presented by Stages of Freedom

Stages of Freedom presents Providence actress and vocalist, Becky Bass as Sissieretta Jones, the nation’s first Black opera superstar who grew up in Providence. This one-woman show takes you into the life and songs of the highest paid Black performer of her day who toured the world, sang for four U.S. presidents, and formed a Vaudeville company. Prospect Terrace is near the home where she lived.
