Leading up to the premiere of his latest film,The Enigma of Harold Sonny Ladoo (2024) at Martinos Auditorium on October 11 (https://arts.brown.edu/whats/whats/worlds-richard-fung-queer-reclamations-asian-caribbean), the Brown Arts Institute presents a survey of queer Asian Canadian filmmakerRichard Fung’s experimental and documentary films made between 1990 and 2016. Showcasing a range of his personal interests and research investments, these films speak to the HIV/AIDS crisis, minoritarian queer histories, colonialism in Canada and the Caribbean, and the global Asian diaspora.
