Join us for a rally and speaking program for Transit Equity Day, which celebrates Rosa Park’s birthday and the movement behind her legacy.
Our theme for this year is Access to Opportunity:In the spirit of Rosa Parks, Rhode Island Transit Riders believes that reliable and affordable public transit is a fundamental public good that opens doors to employment, education, healthcare, and social mobility. Investment in public transit ensures that all individuals, regardless of race, income, or location, can access these opportunities. We’ll start the event as close to one pm as possible, leave time at the end for a brief social gathering–and be completely done by two, if not a little earlier, given the likelihood of cold weather. We hope that you can come!
