The Museum of Work & Culture, a division of the Rhode Island Historical Society, is excited to continue Tuesday Tea Time Talks, a casual, conversational program where participants come together in one of the Museum’s permanent exhibits.
The first Tuesday Tea Time Talk of autumn will be hosted on Tuesday, September 24th at 1:30 p.m. and will teach participants how to hand knit their own chunky blanket, as part of the Musuem’s Welcome Blanket special exhibit programming. The project requires 140 yards of thick blanket yarn and participants are asked to bring their own supplies. The talk will start with a demonstration, then transition to free time for participants to knit, chat, and enjoy tea and cookies. Participants can also bring their own knit or crochet projects to work on.
Cookies and tea will be served, and admission is free. Registration is not required but encouraged.
Welcome Blanket is made possible with the support of Welcome Blanket and Jayna Zweiman, Dorcas International Institute of Rhode Island, the Blackstone Valley Piecemakers Quilting Guild, and the Blackstone Valley Quilting Company.
Cookies and tea will be served, and admission is free. Registration is not required but encouraged. Please call 401-769-965 or register online here.
