Robin (Powers) Chivers

Robin (Powers) Chivers, 63, of East Providence, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 26, 2025.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Margaret (Blanding) Powers.

Robin was known for her big heart and will be remembered for her caring spirit, stubborn strength, and the way she could always make those around her laugh. She worked for many years as a cashier at Dollar Tree, where she enjoyed connecting with the people she saw every day. She loved camping, animals, and tending to her houseplants, and she found joy in the simple, quiet moments of life—especially when spending time with her family. Her greatest pride and happiness came from her children and grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure.

She is survived by her three children, Matthew Chivers, Ashley Negri, and Joshua Chivers; her seven grandchildren, Juliana Cotrone, Jaelyn Cotrone, Amiyah Negri, Emma Negri, Nitalia Garafano, Michael Mazzatto, and Joseph Mazzatto; her great-granddaughter, Rheya Sunderland; and her siblings, Linda Normann and Stuart Powers. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as many great-great nieces and nephews who lovingly referred to her as “Auntie Arbie.” She was predeceased by her sister, Marcia Coyne.

A celebration of Robin’s life will be held at a later date, and the family will share details once arrangements are made.
