Michael V. Allienello

Michael V. Allienello, 78, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026, in East Providence, Rhode Island. He was born on July 24, 1947, in Providence, Rhode Island, and lived his entire life in East Providence, where he carried a deep love for the community he called home.

He was the beloved husband of Susan (Falaguerra) Allienello, who he loved and adored. They were inseparable and together they shared more than 33 years of marriage filled with devotion, companionship, and family. He was the son of the late Michele and Evelyn (Brown) Allienello and the son-in-law of Louis Falaguerra of Riverside, Rhode Island, and the late Dolores Falaguerra. Michael was also the beloved and often-spoiled brother of Carol Francis of East Providence, Rhode Island; Patricia Dias and her husband, Robert, of Rehoboth, Massachusetts; He was also the brother-in-law of Cheryl (Falaguerra) Silva and her husband, Gary, of Riverside, Rhode Island. He is predeceased by his sister Barbara (Allienello) Reed and her husband Tom Reed and his brother-in law James Whitehead.

Michael was a devoted father to David Allienello and his wife, Liza, of Granite Falls, North Carolina; Michele O’Keefe and her husband, Brian, of Bedford, New Hampshire; Lindsee Allienello and her wife, Jeannine, of Boston, Massachusetts; Brianna Allienello and her partner, Robert DeCosta, of Cranston, Rhode Island; and Michael V. Allienello Jr. and his wife, Stephanie, of East Providence, Rhode Island. He was a proud grandfather to Lauren, Eric, Nicholas, Kaleigh and her wife, Alyssa, Emily and her husband, Julian, Jack, Ella, Dallas, Charlotte, and Sonny, and a loving great-grandfather to Kai. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, especially the dogs he adored, Olaf and Winnie.

A veteran of the United States Army, Michael served his country with honor and carried that sense of duty throughout his life. He was well known throughout East Providence as the owner and operator of the Broadway Bar, also known as 42nd Street, for more than 40 years, where he built lasting friendships and left a memorable mark on the local business community. He also worked at Home Depot in Seekonk, Massachusetts, for more than 17 years and previously owned Burkhardt’s Clothing Store in Riverside. Through each chapter of his working life, Michael was respected for his strong work ethic, dedication, and steady presence.

Michael was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church and a devout Catholic whose faith guided his life’s journey. His devotion to the Catholic Church inspired and guided him throughout his life, and he instilled those same values in each of his children.

He was also active in many organizations and took pride in being a member of the East Providence F.O.P.A., a past board member of the Boys and Girls Club, an officer of the Loggia Luce Moderna, and Grand Lodge Sons of Italy Officer of the Adelphi Lodge of Masons. His involvement reflected his commitment to service, fellowship, and the betterment of those around him, especially his community.

He enjoyed playing softball and was happiest when attending the sporting events of his children and grandchildren, cheering them on with pride and enthusiasm. He also loved traveling and found comfort in simple moments at home, especially watching television with his cherished dogs by his side. Those who knew Michael will remember him as a loving, faith-filled, selfless man who gave generously of himself to his family, friends, community, and especially his dogs.

Michael will be remembered for his warm heart, his unwavering faith, and the deep devotion he showed to the people he loved. His life was marked by hard work, loyalty, and kindness, and his memory will remain a lasting source of comfort and inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know him.

His funeral will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 346 Waterman Avenue, East Providence.

Burial with Military Honors will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Rebello Funeral Home.
