Adriana Pereira Obituary
Providence – Adriana (Medeiros) Pereira,80, known lovingly as Adriana, passed away on Thursday ,July 2, 2026, at Hope Hospice in Providence. She was born on May 26, 1946, in Sao Miguel, Azores, and lived a life marked by devotion to her family, her faith, her work, and the many people who were fortunate enough to know her.
Adriana came to Providence from Portugal in 1966 and made the city her home for the rest of her life. She carried with her the values and traditions of her upbringing, and she shared them generously with those around her. She was the wife of the late Adriano S. Pereira and the daughter of the late Manuel Mota Medeiros and Maria Dos Anjos Duarte Medeiros. Her life was deeply rooted in family, and she remained a steady and loving presence to all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Nelson Pereira and his wife Susan of Warwick, Paul Pereira and his wife Beverly of Warwick, Susan Bishop of Providence, and Mary Santana and her husband Felix of Cranston. She was predeceased by her daughter, Georgina Pereira. Adriana was also the sister of Nelson Medeiros of Hudson, MA, Adriano Medeiros of Toronto, Jose Artur Medeiros of Providence, Conceicao Morais of Providence, and Adelia Moura of Fall River, and the late Paul Medeiros. She was a devoted grandmother to Beverly, Adriana, Paul, Joseph, Justin, Ariana, Kaitlyn, and Meghan, and a proud great-grandmother to Jaelyn, Justin, Jr., Brayden, Annalise, and Isabella. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will remember her with love.
For over 35 years, Adriana worked as a shipping and receiving clerk for Danecraft Jewelry Manufacturing Company. She was known for her dedication, reliability, and strong work ethic. Her long career reflected the same qualities that guided her life beyond work, including her kindness, her sense of responsibility, and her thoughtful nature. She was the kind of person others could count on, and she carried out her duties with quiet strength and grace.
Adriana was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, where her faith was an important part of her life. She gave of herself in many ways, including cooking for numerous church functions, and she found joy in being part of a community that shared her values. Her presence at church and in her neighborhood was a source of comfort and warmth to many.
She enjoyed gardening and took pleasure in caring for the things she loved. She was also a gifted storyteller, and her stories brought laughter, memory, and connection to family gatherings and everyday conversations alike. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family and grandchildren, and those moments were among the happiest of her life. Her home and her heart were always open, and she expressed her love through her actions, her words, and her steady presence.
Adriana will be remembered as a loving, generous, and thoughtful woman whose life touched many people in meaningful ways. Her family, friends, and community will cherish her memory and the example she set through her compassion, her devotion, and her enduring love. Though she is no longer with them, her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
