Ernest A. Grieco Sr.

Ernest A. Grieco Sr., passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, at the age of 92, in Providence, Rhode Island, the city that witnessed his birth, his life’s unfolding, and his final days.

He was the husband of the late Anna M. (D’Agostino) Grieco for 50 years.

He was the son of the late Ernest and Katherine (Coia) Grieco.

A proud veteran, Ernest served his country with honor in the United States Army during the Korean War Era. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the service shaped his life views and the values he instilled in his children. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, each benefiting from his wisdom, love, and the unique dollhouses he built for them, a testament to his dexterity and affection.

Ernest’s life was rich with hobbies and interests that reflected his personality. He could often be found playing the keyboard and clarinet, his fingers producing melodies that matched his inner rhythm. His passion for music extended to big bands, and he took particular solace in the tunes of Glenn Miller and Frank Sinatra.

A sports enthusiast, Ernest was an avid bowler, his competitive spirit matched by his camaraderie with fellow players. His love for the game was infectious, and his presence at the bowling alley was a source of joy for all who knew him. The clarity of his laughter and the warmth of his company will be missed by many.

He will be fondly remembered by his sons; Raymond Grieco, and his wife Yvonne, of Grover Beach, CA, Ernest A. Grieco Jr., and his partner Patricia, of North Providence, RI, Michael Grieco, of North Providence, RI, and Robert Grieco, and his fiancée Sherri, of Norton, MA, his six grandchildren; Samantha, Amanda, Melissa, Megan, Melody, and Michele, and five great-grandchildren; Addison Dennis Ayden Noah and Santino.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna M. Grieco, and his sister, Angela Corio.

Funeral services will be private.

Ernest’s life was a tapestry of service, family, and gioia di vivere. He leaves behind an indelible impression on those fortunate enough to have crossed his path. The Grieco family mourns his loss while celebrating the remarkable man he was – a figure of inspiration, love, and grace that crossed generations. Ernest’s memory will be treasured, his legacy cherished, and the echo of his contributions to his family and community will resonate for years to come.
