Gladys A. Duffie

Gladys A. Duffie, 94, of Providence, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

She was the wife of the late Edward Duffie.

Born in Fort Valley, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Lucy.

Mrs. Duffie was a school teacher for the Providence School Department for many years before retiring. She loved traveling, gardening, walking, reading, and animals, and cherished time spent with her family and friends.

She leaves four children, Lynn Holloman-Pressley, Saundra Holloman and her husband Keith Phillips, Samuel Holloman, and Sharmey Holloman and her husband Russell Dominque; four step-children, Janice Almeida, Patricia Duffie, Lewis Duffie, and Michael Duffie; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by seven siblings, Catherine, Minnie Lee, Irene, Andrew, Alberta, Lucille, and Betty Jean.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Historical Chapel at Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Blvd, Providence, RI. Burial will be private.
