A beloved brother, uncle, and friend, James V. Santangelo, 77, of Warwick, passed away peacefully at Hope Hospice of RI on Sunday, January 19, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was a son of the late James V. and Anna (Meegan) Santangelo and is survived by his sister Carol Mirabella and her spouse, Raymond, of Providence. He also leaves his nieces and a nephew by whom he will be sorely missed. ‘Jimmy’, as he was affectionately known, was predeceased by two sisters, Joyce Keegan and Susan Jean Santangelo.
Born and raised in Providence, he attended Classical High School and was drafted into the United States Army upon graduation served his country honorably in the Vietnam War.
Jimmy was outgoing and had a great personality. A sports enthusiast, he ran track for Classical High, enjoyed golf, and loved to bowl. He was the recipient of the Pro-Am Bowling championship. An avid Yankees fan, he adored Mickey Mantle. He also enjoyed ‘old’ movies.
Visitation, to which family and friends are respectfully invited, will be held on Monday January 27th from 4-6 pm. in the Berarducci Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, 26 Grove St., Providence.
Burial will be Tuesday, January 28th, in the RI Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Exeter. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to gather at the funeral home at 9:15 am. for procession to the Cemetery.
