Joan M. Anthony Obituary
Joan M. Anthony, 90, formerly of Redway Circle, Rumford, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026. She was the wife of the late William J. Anthony.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Jenny (David) Marshall. Mrs. Anthony was a schoolteacher for the Attleboro School Department specializing in English and ESL. Joan had a passion for teaching and over the years she taught at various locations and in many different capacities. She was a voracious reader and she was never without a book. She was a woman of great faith who spent endless hours attending adoration. Above all else was her family. Being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren always made her very happy. Joan will always be remembered as a loving and caring person. She was always there for anyone!
She leaves four sons, William M. Anthony and his wife Gretchen, Stephen P. Anthony and his wife Norma, Paul G. Anthony and his wife Nancy and Michael G. Anthony, her daughter-in-law, Catherine Anthony, 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Joseph M. Anthony and sister of the late Marilyn Thomas.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 in St. Margaret Church, 1098 Pawtucket Avenue, Rumford. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-7 PM.
