Kandy Wilson Rainey

Kandy Wilson Rainey, 85, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Lincolnwood Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in North Providence, Rhode Island surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 29, 1940, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Kandy was born to the late Robert Wilson and the late Anna Mae Hardwick-Wilson Nichols.

She attended early education schools in Lancaster, PA and after graduation High School, she relocated to Providence, Rhode Island. She became a certified Cosmetologist at the Lincoln Barber College of Hair Design in Boston, Massachusetts, she then attended the Arthor Angelo’s School of Cosmetology & Hair Design in Providence, Rhode Island where she also was an instructor. Kandy also worked at Bell’s Funeral Home in Providence, Rhode Island for many years.

She was a devoted member of Faith and Deliverance Tabernacle of God in East Providence, Rhode Island. Kandy loved the Lord and loved hearing the songs of the Church. “The Legendary Kandy Rainey, the beloved owner of Kandy’s Of Course in Providence, was more than a stylist—she was a pillar of her community. Kandy Wilson is survived by her brother James Wilson (Andrea) Douglasville, Georgia, her Godson she raised, Christopher Neal of Providence, Rhode Island, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her niece Charlene Wilson whom she raised, her brothers Ronald Hardwick, Lamont Wilson, Sr., Lewis Wilson, Dennis Wilson, and one sister, Connie Wilson, her niece Winifred Wilson, and her nephew Tyshon Wilson. She will be missed by all.
