64, of Cranston, passed away peacefully Friday, November 7th, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born In Providence, she was the daughter of Claire Barattini and the late Augustine Barattini.
She is survived by her loving husband Michael Lopes, as well as her son Michael Lopes Jr., daughter in law Allison Lopes, daughter Christa Lopes and her husband Aaron Jefferies as well as her two grandchildren who she adored, Jake and Adelina Lopes. A beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and colleague to so many. Karen was the sweetest of souls, and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Her talents were many, both professionally and also at home, where she could often be found cooking or baking amazing food, much of it steeped in family tradition. Known as Nonna to her grandchildren, she loved preparing meals with them the most.
