Paul D. Ruggieri, age 71, of Tolono, Illinois, passed away on November 2, 2025. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, on February 8, 1954, he was the son of John and Olive (Cifu) Ruggieri.
Paul attended Cranston West High School, CCRI of Warwick, RI, and Ocean Welding Institute of Fort Pierce, Florida. He worked on various oil rigs in the Gulf of America, as well as owning and operating Better Furniture Refinishing in West Warwick, RI. In his later years, Paul was a caretaker for adults with special needs in Farmington, Maine, before eventually retiring to Tolono, Illinois, where he lived near dear family members, nephew Alexander and Sylvia Ruggieri and their family, and enjoyed becoming involved in their local church.Paul was a creative person. He deeply appreciated music and painting, especially landscapes, and he loved giving his own artwork to others to enjoy. He pursued photography as a business and his great interest in history often came out in his conversations.
Paul is survived by his beloved sons David Ruggieri of West Warwick, RI, and Alexander (and wife Alicia) Ruggieri of Wisconsin; his grandson Phinehas Ruggieri of Wisconsin; his treasured brothers Michael (and wife Judith) of Florida, and twin brother Peter (and wife Patricia) of Chepachet, RI; as well as his cherished niece Maria Ruggieri and many other nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brothers Alexander (Sonny) Ruggieri, John Ruggieri, and his sister Dolores Castle, as well as his parents, John and Olive Ruggieri.
Paul was loved and will be missed by many.
