I’m from Illinois originally. I came here in my 20s when I was in the service and spent some time down in Newport. It was beautiful. I’ve lived in a lot of different places around Rhode Island over the years, but now I’m over in Pawtucket. I fish here pretty often.
When I come out fishing, I’m trying to catch dinner. Bluefish is good. It’s a little oily, but it’s still a really good fish, and you can’t get it any fresher than this. The biggest one I ever caught was down at Block Island. It had to be thirty pounds. It seemed like it took half an hour to get it in because they fight like heck.
At this point, if I catch a minnow, I’ll be happy.
Even if you don’t catch anything, it’s great to come out and just stand here and take it all in.
