Rosemarie Peters, 78, our beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Rosemarie was born on March 2, 1947 in Providence, RI to the late John and Phoebe (Mosca) Fontes and was the widow of the late James R. Peters Sr… She is survived by their children Scott, and his partner Josephine Araujo of Riverside, Christopher and his spouse, Ann-Marie of East Providence, James, Jr. and his spouse, Crystal of Coventry, Jay and his spouse, Regina of Johnston and their loving grandchildren, Joseph, Alex, and Kyle Peters, and Jake & Noah Araujo. She was predeceased by her brother, John Fontes Jr…

Rosemarie worked at the now defunct M&F Case Co. where she met her beloved husband, Jim. She was a devoted wife, dedicated mother, and loving homemaker. She dedicated her life to raising her boys and then her grandchildren teaching them by example. She was a dedicated volunteer, providing many years of exemplary service to Sacred Heart School in East Providence.

She was an amazing and accomplished cook. She made the absolute best chicken cutlets, eggplant parmesan, and her son Scott’s favorite, Braciola which was one of her specialties. She took great pride and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and loved ones. She enjoyed traveling but was a homebody at heart. She also enjoyed movies and shows, especially one soap opera of Turkish origin.

Rosemarie loved nothing more than spending quality time with her grandchildren who meant the world to her.

When she was younger and able, she enjoyed hosting holidays and summertime parties with friends and family.

She will be sorely missed along with her always sweet & beautiful presence.

The family would also like to express their extreme gratitude to the staff at Hope Health RI, their care and compassion went well above and beyond all expectations. They are true professionals in their field.

Services for Rosemarie have been entrusted to the Berarducci Funeral Home. Friends and relatives are invited to attend her Funeral Mass which will be celebrated May 17th at St Francis Xavier in East Providence at 11 am. Burial will be private.
