Jacqueline G. (Fernandes) Ming

September 30, 1947 ~ April 22, 2026 (age 78)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jacqueline Ming, a proud woman, a devoted mother, and the heart of her family.

Jacqueline, known to many as Jackie and Mama Ming, was the mother of four strong boys who grew into men Andrew, Nicholas, Christopher, and Joseph. She also opened her heart and home to many who were not blood but became family. She made everyone feel welcome, cared for, and at home. She worked hard her entire life and showed strength through everything she faced. She raised her family with love, resilience, and values that will continue to live on through them.

She found joy in the simple things. She loved reading books, staying informed with the news, and had a creative side, enjoying sewing and making her own clothes. She loved the beach and held a deep connection to Bermuda, where she spent many years and met the love of her life, building a life rooted in old school values of loyalty, strength, and family. She also enjoyed finding hidden gems at flea markets and thrift stores, and when she was younger, she loved to travel. She loved good food and truly enjoyed sharing meals. She was all about family and looked forward to family reunions in New Bedford, where she spent time with cousins she loved dearly.

Jackie was also a sister and is remembered by her brother Frank and her late sister Eva. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Andrew Ming. She will be missed by everyone who loved her.

She is survived by her four sons, as well as her stepdaughter Dionne Dowling, her daughter in law Renee Ming, her nephew Richard DeSilva, and her grandchildren Andrew Ming III, Jovan Finley, Marcus Burnham, Matthew Burnham, Nicholas Burnham, Ileana Burnham, and Isabella Rose Ming, who will carry her love forward. She also leaves behind many loved ones who were like family and called her Mama Ming, including Nicole Rivera, Teri, Amy Clark, Jessica, and many more.

Jackie lost her mother at the young age of five, and through that loss, she was raised with love by her grandparents,
