Carmine “Larry” Labbadia

Carmine “Larry” Labbadia passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Carmine was born on July 12, 1929 in Providence, RI to the late Angelo and Marie (Fasole) Labbadia. He was Predeceased byhis brother Americo Labbadia, his sister Filomena Chiarello, and sister Celeste Seymour.

He was the beloved husband of Gloria (DeAngelis) Labbadia for 77 years. He was the devoted father of Michael Labbadia (FD) and his wife Francesca of Johnston, Paul Labbadia (FD) and his wife Antonietta of North Providence and the late Lawrence Labbadia (FD). He was the proud grandfather of 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, all of whom brought him great joy.

Carmine proudly served his country in both the United States Army and Air Force during the Korean War as a fire fighter.

Following his military service, he continued his fire service at Otis Air Force Base from 1951-1981 as a chief officer. From 1972-1989, Carmine established the Massachusetts Air National Guard Fire Department at Otis Air Force Base while serving as Fire Chief. In 1978, Carmine was elected as Director of the Air National Guard Fire Chief Association. He was also appointed in the town of North Providence, as Special Fire Commissioner and Civil Defense Director (1970s-1980S).

Above all else, Carmine loved his family deeply. He enjoyed spending time in both Florida and Rhode Island where he made many happy memories with his family, friends, and loved ones.

He will be remembered for his strength, patriotism, and unwavering devotion to his family. His legacy of service to his country, his community, and those closest to him will live on through the many lives he touched.
