Goldstein, Arlene

Goldstein, Arlene, 79, died on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Harry and Goldie (Slefkin) Goldstein, she lived in Pawtucket her entire life.

She was an elementary teacher in the Barrington school district for over 30 years, retiring in 2001. Following her time in Barrington schools, she volunteered with the Providence Performing Arts Center and later became a head usher, she remained here for nearly two decades. She was a life member of the Pawtucket Chapter of Hadassah and the former B’nai Brith Women. Arlene was well traveled and an avid golfer; she was a member of Gristmill Pool Club and loved to play canasta and mahjongg. Arlene was raised and actively involved in Congregation Ohawe Sholam of Pawtucket for many years.

Arlene is survived by her numerous cousins and friends. Her forever smile, infectious laugh, love, and support is already missed. She truly represented the best of humans and was a shining star to those in her light. She is now reunited with her best friend Abby – and we are sure they have dozens of tennis balls and are in a long game of fetch.

Funeral services and burial will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. in the Lincoln Park Cemetery Priest Chapel, 1469 Post Road, Warwick, RI 02888. A celebration of life lunch will follow and location announced at the service. Shiva will be observed in private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to PPAC, 220 Weybosset Street, Providence, RI 02903, or your favorite.
