Lisa Rene Pezza,

Beloved mother, daughter, and friend, Lisa Rene Pezza, 60, of Johnston, formerly of Providence, passed away peacefully at Hope Hospice on July 17th, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on June 1, 1966, she was the cherished daughter of Loretta (Norcini) (Pezza) Scivola and the late David A. Pezza. Lisa was a dedicated homemaker who also worked hard as a proud member of the IATSE Stage Employees Local 23 union.

A loving and devoted mother with a beautiful smile, quick wit and a heart of gold is how we will always remember her. Lisa dedicated her life entirely to her family and her only son, Anthony S. Marfeo. She leaves behind Anthony and his partner, Nicole, of Johnston, as well as her loving and devoted mother, Loretta. She was the dear sister of Mark Pezza and his spouse Rachel of North Smithfield, Robin Rocha of Norton MA, and Rebecca Newell and her spouse Justin of Westerly. She is also survived by her three beloved nephews, Michael, Joseph, and Mark. She was predeceased by her stepfather Alfred J. “Chippy” Scivola.

Lisa will always be remembered for her deep devotion and her fierce loyalty to those she cared for. While she kept a small circle of friends, she was truly “true blue” to those she cared for. Compassionate and selfless, she thought nothing of putting others before herself throughout her life. She was the living example of what she wished the memories of her to be. She was entirely nonjudgmental, believing that if someone possessed a good soul and a decent heart, that was all that truly mattered.

Known as an incredibly clean and exceptionally organized woman, Lisa also possessed a great sense of humor. She loved to relax with her adult coloring books and watched Jeopardy every night without fail. Her son would often tease her, asking, “Would you even know if they were pulling your leg?” to which she got a kick out of and would quickly snap back, “Yes, I would!”

The world is a little less compassionate today without her presence. We will deeply miss her smile, her laugh, and her humor. May she rest in peace, and may the perpetual light shine upon her until we meet again.

Services for Lisa have been entrusted to the Berarducci Home and a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Our Lady Of Grace Church in Johnston. Date and time for the mass will be posted tomorrow morning.
