Michael Leo “Mike” Lyons, age 77, of Seekonk, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday June 17, 2026. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island, on March 1, 1949, and lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a kind and generous spirit that will be remembered by all who knew him.
Mike was the son of the late Walter L. and Florence M. (Carnes) Lyons. He was a proud and devoted father to Shawn Lyons and his wife Lorry of Maine, and Patrick Lyons and his wife Leigh of Attleboro. He was also the former husband of Lynda (Williams) Lyons of Pawtucket. Mike was a loving brother to Maureen Lambert and her husband Mike of Scituate, Rhode Island. He was a cherished grandfather to Kyra Lyons and Ethan Lyons, and he also leaves behind his three nephews, Tom Lyons, Adam Lambert, and Michael Lambert.
Throughout his working life, Mike was known as a dependable and skilled heavy equipment operator. He worked for various construction companies and took pride in doing his job well. Those who worked alongside him knew him as someone who could be counted on, a man who approached his work with dedication, patience, and a strong sense of responsibility. His efforts helped build and support many projects over the years, and he earned the respect of coworkers and acquaintances through his steady presence and strong work ethic.
Outside of work, Mike found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially gardening. He enjoyed spending time outdoors tending to his plants and watching things grow. His garden was a reflection of the care and attention he brought to the people in his life. Whether sharing time with family, working with his hands, or enjoying a quiet moment in the yard, Mike appreciated the value of honest labor and peaceful moments.
Mike will be remembered most for the loving, kind, and thoughtful way he treated others. He had a gentle presence and a warm heart, and he left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him. His family and friends will remember his steady nature, his quiet strength, and the compassion he showed throughout his life. He was a man who cared deeply for those around him, and his memory will remain a source of comfort and love to all who held him dear.
His life was one of devotion to family and commitment to the people and responsibilities that mattered most to him. Though his passing leaves a deep sadness, the legacy he leaves behind is one of kindness, hard work, and love. His family will forever cherish the memories they shared with him and the example he set through the way he lived his life.
Mike’s presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his children, grandchildren, sister, nephews, and all who knew and loved him. May he be remembered with affection and gratitude for the many ways he enriched the lives of others.
