Penny Webster, 69, of Riverside, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Rhode Island Hospital.
Born in Medford, MA, she was the daughter of the late John and Marie (Webb) Webster.
Penny was a 1978 graduate from the University of Rhode Island earning her degree in nursing. She was also a member of the Delta-Zeta Sorority. Following graduation, she went on to work for the Miriam Hospital from 1978 to 1983. In 1983 she went to work for Mass General Hospital in the operating room until 2003. Penny finished her career as a Registered Nurse in the operating room at the Miriam Hospital from 2004 to 2018 before retiring. Penny loved animals and was always the first person to lend a hand to anyone in need. She will be deeply missed.
She leaves four sisters, Pamela Costigan and her husband John of Rumford, Paula Burke and her husband Michael of Rumford, Patricia Boyton and her husband William of Narragansett and Paige Webster of Rumford. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 10:00 Saint Margaret’s Church, Rumford. Burial will be private. Calling hours Friday, May 8, 2026, from 5-7 PM.
