Steven J. Papa, 89, of North Providence, RI, passed away on March 17, 2026.
He was the husband of Marie (DiMunzio) Papa.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John and Rena (Heon) Papa.
Mr. Papa honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. In his younger years, he worked for Tony Goodrich Television City as a deliveryman for twenty years. During his time there, he learned how to repair TVs, which led him to later become the owner of Modern TV in North Providence. He most recently worked as a correctional officer for the Adult Correctional Institute for 28 years.
Mr. Papa is survived by his wife, Marie Papa, of North Providence, his son, Ronald Papa, of North Providence, his daughters, Maria St. Angelo, of North Providence, and Cheryl Ferri, of North Providence. He additionally leaves his grandchildren, David St. Angelo, Megan St. Angelo Gomes and husband Van, Ronald Papa Jr., and his great granddaughter, Lena Gomes.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Woodruff.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 1081 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence.
Burial will be private.
