Emilio D. DiSanto 94, of Cranston, passed away Monday May 4th, 2026, at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Andy and Filomena DiSanto.
Throughout his life his greatest joy was spending time with his family and close friends. Emilo and Anna were married for 70 years. Their wedding song was “It’s Magic”, just like their love for each other. He managed his own hair Salon, Emile’s for 61 years and retired at 86. Saturdays at Emile’s Salon were for family and friends, gathering for food, drinks and hair styling. And his artistry was in great demand.
His passions were Italian cooking, gardening, clothes shopping and taking long walks. To his family he was known as Dad and Papa. His friends called him Mimi. He loved his sister-in-law Teresa and treated her like his own little sister. In his eyes his daughter Jodi gave him his greatest gift- his grandchildren. With his son Emilio, he shared his love for gardening, which inspired him to start his own landscaping business. He enjoyed watching his daughter Gioia perform on stage. Their special time together was spent at the theater and watching movies together while rubbing his feet. Every Monday and Tuesday, Ana and her Papa had their one-on-one time together. At her wedding they danced to “The Best is Yet to Come.” When it came to his Grandson Joseph, he was proud of his athleticism and enjoyed watching Joseph “Bam-Bam” Martin playing ice hockey. Papa shared his love for the Patriots with his Granddaughter Gabriella on Sundays. He also loved relaxing in his backyard while watching his Great Grandchildren, Steven and Nicky, enjoy swimming in his pool.
Throughout his marriage to his wife, they called each other ‘Hun”. During his time away in the military, he wrote many love letters to her and every letter ended with “I love you forever and a day.”
