Christina Varney

Christina Varney, 97 of Green Acres, Florida, formally of North Providence, passed away on Friday October 11th.

She was the beloved wife of the late Charles Varney.

Born in Keene, NH, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Peter and Koula Kaissaris.

Mrs. Varney was the owner of the Honeydew Restaurant in Providence and employed by the Miriam Hospital for many years, prior to retiring.

She enjoyed traveling, painting, shopping, spending time with family and friends, and participating in performances at her condominium association in Florida. She also adored her cats, Chucky and Daisy.

She was the mother of, Peter Hallas, his wife Rosemary, and Ernest Hallas, and the late Maria Santoro; six grandchildren, Alexis Santoro, Anthony Santoro, Damian Santoro, Stephen Hallas, Bethany Viveiros, and Alexander Hallas; and seven great-grandchildren.

She is also the former wife of late James Hallas and late Frank Jacovone.

Services will be on Tuesday October 22nd at 9:00 am at the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence, followed by a funeral service at 10:30 am at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 175 Oaklawn Avenue, Cranston. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park.
