Schneider, Beverly Gorden, 77, died Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at home. She was the beloved wife of the late Stephen Alan Schneider. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Joseph and Anne (Glassman) Gorden, she had lived in Narragansett, RI for 8 years, previously living in Warwick, RI.
She was a gifted student who graduated a year early in 1964 from Pilgrim High School in Warwick, she continued on to attend Johnson and Wales, and then moved to Washington, D.C. where Beverly studied at the George Washington University. In the late 1960s she went to work on Capitol Hill in the offices of Senator Claiborne Pell and Congressman Edward Beard, among several other lawmakers. After working on the Hill, Beverly worked for the Democratic National Committee and later for its chairman, Charles T. Manatt. Beverly worked as a paralegal in a variety of law offices like the then Garvey Schubert Barer and Manatt, Phelps and Phillips Law in Washington D.C. Later in her career, Beverly owned and operated her own floral business providing and arranging for events like weddings. She loved flowers and was incredibly proud of her wonderful garden. She also loved decorating her home with her keen eye for design she was devoted to comfort and simple beauty which was expressed through her amazing garden and floral designing abilities.
In 2007, Beverly and Stephen moved from the D.C. area to Warwick Rhode Island to begin their retirement.
Devoted mother of Billy Moss and his partner, Cynthia, of Brooklyn, NY; Jeremy Schneider and his wife, Dana, of Adamstown, MD; and Jenny Schneider and her partner, Matt, of Charlottesville, VA. Dear sister of Roberta Johnson of Warwick, RI and the late Norman Gorden. Loving grandmother of Sylvia, Avi and Zev. She is also survived by her first husband, Richard F. Moss.
Beverly will be deeply missed by those who loved her and remembered for her exuberance, sweetness, humor, sensitivity, intellect, generosity, and feistiness.
