Cynthia Oliver Obituary, Cynthia Marie Oliver, 67, of Riverside, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on Thursday ,April 9, 2026, at RI Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island.
Born in Providence on January 3, 1959, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Junior) O’Connell. Cynthia was a lifelong Rhode Island resident who carried herself with warmth, grace, and quiet strength throughout her life. She was known to her family and friends as a loving, kind, and thoughtful woman whose presence brought comfort and joy to those around her.
Cynthia was the beloved wife of Richard Oliver, and they shared more than 49 devoted years of marriage. Their long and loving union was built on mutual respect, companionship, and a deep commitment to family. Together, they created a home filled with love and lasting memories that will be cherished by all who knew them.
She was the loving mother of Richard Oliver and his wife Melissa of Smithfield, and Chris Oliver of Pawtucket. Cynthia was a proud and devoted grandmother to Sophia Oliver and Preston Oliver, and she treasured the time she spent with them. Her family was the center of her life, and she found great happiness in being surrounded by those she loved.
Cynthia is also survived by her siblings, William O’Connell of Wisconsin, Renee Silva and her husband Edwin of Pawtucket, and Wendy Morrow of East Providence. She was the sister-in-law of Gregory Cipalone and his wife Deborah of Spring Hill, Florida. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart. Her extended family will remember her for her kindness, her steady support, and the genuine care she showed to everyone around her.
For over nine years, Cynthia worked as a customer service representative for Lowe’s of Seekonk, where she was appreciated for her dedication, professionalism, and friendly manner. Prior to that, she spent more than 17 years at Sam’s Club, where she built many lasting relationships and was respected by coworkers and customers alike. Her strong work ethic and dependable nature were evident in every position she held, and she took pride in serving others with patience and sincerity.
Cynthia lived in Riverside for more than 14 years, having previously made her home in East Providence. She embraced the community around her and valued the simple pleasures of life. She especially enjoyed traveling, and those who knew her will remember the happiness she found in discovering new places and making memories along the way. Her journeys reflected the curiosity and appreciation for life that she carried with her always.
Cynthia will be remembered as a woman of great heart, whose loving nature touched the lives of many. She was thoughtful in her words, kind in her actions, and steadfast in her devotion to her family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her, and she will be deeply missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and all whose lives she brightened.
