Our names are Eliza, Emma, and Eddie, and we are 8th graders who attend the Wheeler Cityside program in Providence. We are really interested in sustainability and climate activism. As young people, it sometimes can be difficult for us to help make necessary changes in our society for a better future. However, one simple change that people can make is composting food waste. We partnered with Groundwork RI’s Harvest Cycle Compost, which is a local organization that promotes composting not only as a better alternative to throwing out food in the trash, but as a process that fosters healthy soil and a healthy environment. We made this podcast to inform people of how simple the process of composting can be. We’ve noticed in our research that many people do not know about composting and how it can make a substantial change in our environment. Hopefully this podcast will teach you something new, and will inspire you to compost in order to have a greener future.
