During the week, I’m an apprentice electrician. And then on the weekends, I work at Ellie’s. I have two cats I hang out with. I’m still exploring — I’m still in the exploration part of moving here.
I’ve lived here for two years now. I moved here from Boston. My family is still in Mass, so I wanted to stay close. But I wanted something that was a little smaller and felt more community-oriented, and I had a good friend here, and he loved it. So I just decided, “why not?”
I have found some of the best friends I’ve ever had here. And it’s a lot easier to find community. It’s been an easier time than I’ve ever had.
Michelle Bi studies English and International & Public Affairs at Brown University. On campus, she writes for The Brown Daily Herald and is involved in social science research. She grew up in Ventura County, CA and enjoys playing guitar and crossword puzzles.
