Michael J. Fox, Jr., 74 of Rumford passed away on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Miriam Hospital.
Born in Providence, on July 1, 1951, he was the youngest son of the late Michael J. Fox, Sr. and Mary (Riley) Fox. Michael or “Foxy” as he was known to most, trained as an engineer, but worked in business development for the majority of his career. He was an East Providence “Townie” through and through and was potentially the proudest resident of Rhode Island. Foxy was a longtime member of the Wannamoisett Country Club in Rumford, and of Briggs Beach in Little Compton where he spent many wonderful years with his entire family. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed his social card league immensely. Foxy had a regular spot at the bar at “Avenue N” where he’d meetup with any number of friends in the community for a social hour. He was a social being at heart who enjoyed sharing a cup of coffee, cocktails, or swapping stories (or tall tales) with anyone to meet his acquaintance. Most of all, he adored his family and loved spending time with all of them. He will be greatly missed.
He leaves two daughters, Sarah F. Okuma and her husband Katsu of Providence, Meghan M. Fox of Providence, a grandson, Kaiyoshi F. Okuma, a granddaughter, Riley G. Okuma, one brother, Paul M. Fox of Niceville, FL, one sister, Carol A. Fox of Warwick, RI, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. He was the brother of the late Philip J. Fox.
