Daniel P. Murphy

Daniel P. Murphy, 32, of Lincoln, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday June 24th.

Born in Providence, he was a son of Diane (Arciero) Murphy and the late William C. Murphy.

Most recently, he returned to school to pursue a degree in Culinary Arts. Prior to enrolling in school, he was a licensed cosmetologist and a talented barber. He volunteered his barbering services at Shower to Empower, a mobile unit offering basic services to the homeless. He was an extraordinary chef, who made countless meals for his friends and family, and delivered meals to assist those in need. His generosity and thoughtfulness always exceeded his means, a reflection of his Christian faith. Daniel was a support staff for his sister, Chanceda. He was a talented artist and a passionately creative person, always developing his interests. He enjoyed sharing his works with friends and family. Our hearts are broken yet filled with all that he gave us. We were blessed beyond measure to have him in our lives. We will miss him dearly.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sisters, Chanceda Murphy and Jaylyn Murphy, his grandmother, Barbara Arciero; two half brothers, Frank Murphy and James Joseph “Joey” Murphy; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins.

His funeral will be from the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence, 8:45 am Wednesday July 2nd followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Visiting hours are Tuesday July 1st 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
