Alfred Mendonsa, Jr.

Alfred Mendonsa, Jr. 81, of Warwick, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones, at Miriam Hospital.

Born in Providence, he was the beloved son of the late Alfred and Domenica (Melillo) Mendonsa, Sr. Alfred was a proud graduate of Mount Pleasant High School and Bryant College, remaining actively involved in both alumni associations. He devoted many years to the Providence Gas Company before retiring in 2006. A devoted communicant of St. Peter’s Church in Warwick, Alfred was a man of faith who lived his life with integrity, kindness, and love.

Above all, Alfred cherished his family. He found joy in spending time with his children and grandchildren, offering guidance, support, and unwavering love. His legacy lives on in the strength, compassion, and resilience he instilled in those closest to him.

Alfred is survived by his devoted children, Alisha Carr and her husband John, John Mendonsa and his fiancée Addy Sirypannho, Brianna Mendonsa, and Jenna Mendonsa; beloved grandchildren, Kennedy, Capri, and Giovanni; and his dear sister, Donna Domenico, and her husband Frank. He also leaves his former wife, Edean Mendonsa.

Funeral services will be held from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 8:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, Warwick. Burial will follow at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are Monday, September 29, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
