Anna Maria (Covelli) Bruzzese
91, of Johnston, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 4, 2024 surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore Bruzzese, whom she was married to for 60 years. Born in Castelnuovo Parano, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Arminda (Macera) Covelli. Mrs. Bruzzese was always one to make new friends each day and to enjoy a loud party with family. She loved to cook her recipes, to read in English and Italian, and to paint gifts for her loved ones. She was a talented seamstress. A devout Catholic, she was a communicant and parish visitor of St. Rocco’s and was a generous supporter of charitable causes all her life.
She is survived by her loving children, Lori Szlashta and her husband Michael, Thomas A. Bruzzese and his wife Mary, Raymond F. Bruzzese and his wife Marilyn Solomon; cherished grandchildren Valentina, Victoria, Adriana, Angelica, Tommy, John; and great grandson Adrian. She was the sister of the late Alessandro Covelli and Filomena DeBellis.
VISITING HOURS will be held on Wednesday, October 9th from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Rocco’s Church, Johnston. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Rocco Church, 927 Atwood Avenue, Johnston, RI 02919.
