Celida Fernandez Ferreira, una mujer cuyo corazón fue tan grande como la familia que nutrió, falleció el 3 de junio de 2026, a la edad de 98 años. Nacida el 7 de diciembre de 1927, Celida vivió una vida definida por la devoción, la resiliencia y la fuerza perdurable de su espíritu.

Celida fue el ancla de una familia grande y amorosa. Deja un legado de amor en sus cinco hijos: Gladys Diaz, Santiago Fernandez, Angela Lopez, Luis Lopez, Mercedes Lopez, y sus catorce nietos, veinte bisnieto y dos tataranietos.

Fue una mujer que dedicó su vida a sus hijos, enseñándoles los valores de integridad y compasión que continúan guiándolos hoy.

Fue una de diez hermanos, creciendo en un hogar lleno de la energía vibrante de sus hermanos y hermanas: Emilio, Alfonso, Enrique, Andres, Marcos, Australia, Lidia, Beatriz y Sor Melania. Los lazos que forjó con sus hermanos en su juventud permanecieron como una piedra angular de su vida, un testimonio de las estrechas tradiciones familiares que siempre atesoró.

Para quienes la conocieron, Celida fue mucho más que un miembro de la familia; fue una fuente de calidez y sabiduría. Su vida abarcó casi un siglo, siendo testigo de cambios increíbles en el mundo, pero ella permaneció firme en su compromiso con su fe y sus seres queridos. Su presencia en nuestras reuniones era el corazón de nuestro hogar, y aunque el espacio que ocupó ahora está en silencio, los ecos de su risa y la calidez de sus consejos permanecerán con nosotros para siempre.

Al reunirnos para recordarla, celebramos una vida bellamente vivida y a una mujer profundamente amada. Ella ha regresado a su descanso, dejando un legado que florecerá por generaciones.

Celida Fernandez Ferreira, a woman whose heart was as large as the family she nurtured, passed away on June 3, 2026, at the age of 98. Born on December 7, 1927, Celida lived a life defined by devotion, resilience, and the enduring strength of her spirit.

Celida was the anchor of a large and loving family. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her five children: Gladys Diaz, Santiago Fernandez, Angela Lopez, Luis Lopez, and Mercedes Lopez; as well as her fourteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was a woman who dedicated her life to her children, teaching them the values of integrity and compassion that continue to guide them today.

She was one of ten siblings, growing up in a home filled with the vibrant energy of her brothers and sisters: Emilio, Alfonso, Enrique, Andres, Marcos, Australia, Lidia, Beatriz, and Sister Melania. The bonds she forged with her siblings in her youth remained a cornerstone of her life, a testament to the close family traditions she always cherished.

To those who knew her, Celida was much more than a family member; she was a source of warmth and wisdom. Her life spanned nearly a century, witnessing incredible changes in the world, yet she remained steadfast in her commitment to her faith and her loved ones. Her presence at our gatherings was the heart of our home, and though the space she occupied is now silent, the echoes of her laughter and the warmth of her guidance will remain with us forever.

As we gather to remember her, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a woman deeply loved. She has returned to her rest, leaving behind a legacy that will flourish for generations to come.
