Dario Ruiz Uribe, who was born on December 27, 1945, in Medellín, Colombia, and passed away on May 24, 2026, in Providence, Rhode Island, lived a life marked by love, wisdom, and kindness.
Dario was known by those who loved him as a wise and caring man, someone who offered steady support and thoughtful advice. He carried himself with dignity and respect and he touched the lives of many.
Dario was the beloved son of Nelly and Carlos, loving husband of Magaly Ruiz, and former husband of Dora Luz Sanchez, mother of his children. He was a proud father to Juan Carlos married to Lorraine and Jose Alejandro married to Natalia, and a devoted grandfather to Jade and Aiden. He also loved Oscar Dario as his own son.
He is survived by his sisters, Mariela, Rosalba, and Marta, and by his brothers, Jairo, Fabio, and Francisco. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Humberto, Carlos Mario, Adolfo, and Enrique, whose memories remained close to the family. Dario was a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews and extended family.
Those who knew Dario will remember a man who valued family above all else and was the kind of person that made others feel respected and cared for. His legacy will live on in the lives of his children, siblings, and all who knew him.
Funeral services will be privately held and final Resting place will be in Envigado, Colombia.
