David Mulholland 69, of Middletown, formerly a longtime resident of the Knightsville area of Cranston, RI, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Royal Health Forest Farm Nursing Home. Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Edward and Virginia (Mosca) Mulholland. He was the brother of the late Edward and Alan Mulholland.
David is survived by his longtime partner, Kathleen Collins of Cranston, RI; nieces Janice and Kerri Mulholland of Smithfield, RI; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. In his later years, David was cared for by his cousins, James Curtis and Jennifer Wagner.
David was a friendly, jovial spirit who enjoyed long walks, bike rides, and listening to Elvis. He was also an animal lover, he especially loved his cat Goldie. He enjoyed watching the New England Patriots and was very interested in old cars despite not being able to drive himself. David always found creative ways to travel around Rhode Island, usually with Kathleen at his side, including bicycles and the RIPTA bus routes. Family members would often unexpectedly bump into David and Kathleen at the Bristol, RI 4th of July parade or in South County at the beach. In his younger years, he would often bike from his home in Cranston, RI to pop in on family members in Smithfield, RI, long before bile lanes were available. His energy and determination were boundless. David also liked to arm wrestle and joke around, often offering to give people a “knuckle sandwich.” He was previously employed at American Tourister in Warren, RI.
Visitation will be held at NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, RI, on Friday, July 24, 2026 from 10:00 – 11:00 am. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Acotes Hill Cemetery, Chepachet, RI.
