Donald F. Wilcox

Donald F. Wilcox, 81, of Narragansett, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026. Born on March 3, 1945, in Providence, Rhode Island, He was the beloved son of Walter Wilcox and Mabel (Moody) Wilcox, and stepson of Agnes Wilcox Sadly, Mabel passed away during Donald’s first year of life.

Donald shared 56 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Regina L. (Morris) Wilcox, who predeceased him. Together they built a close-knit family and a lifetime of cherished memories.

He was the loving father of David Wilcox and his wife Diane of Ashland, Virginia; Michael Wilcox of Attleboro, Massachusetts; and Mathew Wilcox of Narraganset, Rhode Island. He was predeceased by two children, Dianne Wilcox and Stephen Wilcox.

Donald was a proud and devoted grandfather to Heather Wilcox, Gina Lee Wilcox, Robert Boyle, Olivia Wilcox, and Sean Wilcox. He was also a cherished great-grandfather to Madeline, Brielle, Emmersyn, and Kylie Boyle.

Throughout his career, Donald worked for Balfour, Texas Instruments. Following his retirement from Texas Instruments, he took a seasonal position working for the State of Rhode Island in Galilee, where he became well known and appreciated by both coworkers and the many locals and yearly vacationers he met over the years. He valued the friendships he formed there and often spoke fondly of the people he worked alongside.

Donald grew up spending summers in Portsmouth and Point Judith, where he developed a lifelong love of fishing and boating. Those coastal communities always held a special place in his heart, and he later shared that love with his own family by bringing them to Point Judith to enjoy the waters and traditions he treasured so deeply.

He will be remembered for his quiet strength, dedication to his family, strong work ethic, and the warmth and kindness he showed to everyone he met. Donald’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life Service will be held Saturday May 30, 2026, at 11 am, in the Skeffington Funeral Home & Cremation 925 Chalkstone Avenue, Providence, RI 02908. Visitation prior to the service from 9-11 am.  Burial will be in Mount Saint Mary Cemetery Pawtucket, RI.
