Elaine (Luongo) Fasano, 77, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2026, in Johnston, RI after a long and full life. She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph Fasano, a loving sister, devoted mother, a cherished grandmother, and a friend to everyone who was lucky enough to know her. Her family was her greatest joy.
Born in Providence, RI on April 7, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Dena Luongo.
She worked as a waitress for many years, but her most treasured job was as a cooking instructor for children in the inner city at Smith Hill Center. Elaine was known for her love of gardening, crossword puzzles, cooking, baking, and holiday traditions. She welcomed many with open arms and a full plate of food, usually an Italian dish. Her kitchen always had the scent of something cooking, usually with fresh basil, like gravy and fresh bread.
Elaine is survived by her two loving daughters, Jeanne Andreoli and Christine Andreoli; her sister, Janice Luongo; and brother, Thomas Luongo; and two aunts, Rita Poli and Anne Calderella. Elaine was predeceased by her son Michael Andreoli.
As the family matriarch, she leaves behind a large family, including six grandchildren: Nadine Andreoli, the first grandchild and only granddaughter, grandsons, Kevin Andreoli, Nicholas Andreoli, Derek Andreoli, Marcus Sharpe, Jovanny Green, Thomas Luongo, and Antonio Luongo. She was also Grandma to nine, soon to be ten, great-grandchildren, whom she cherished dearly. She also leaves behind two great nieces and nephews.
Elaine’s warmth, kindness, and generosity were a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her. She created a home filled with laughter, love, and cherished traditions that will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever. Her legacy of faith and compassion will continue to guide those she leaves behind.
Throughout her entire life, Elaine held an unwavering faith in God, she loved the church and loved sharing the love and warmth of our savior, Jesus Christ, with as many people as possible. Elaine, “Sister”, “Mom”, “Grandma”—we rejoice in the promise of eternal life and look forward to that day when we see you again. Matthew 5:4: “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”
