Elizabeth Vega, 74, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 24, 2024. Originally from Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, she was the cherished daughter of the late Mercedes De Jesus and Juan Vega.
Elizabeth will be fondly remembered for her kindness and generosity, always ready to lend a hand, whether it was cooking, decorating for events, or caring for young children. She had a heart that found it difficult to say “no” to anyone in need. Many young girls who crossed her path will forever cherish the motherly wisdom she imparted from her own life experiences, especially those who lacked a maternal figure; many still affectionately refer to her as ma, mom, or mami.
Elizabeth is survived by her devoted children, Pedro G. Ayala Jr. and Liza Torres, as well as her beloved grandson, SebastyanAyala. She can now find peace alongside her late mother, who passed away 24 years ago on November 23rd, as they shared countless beautiful moments together. We love you, Ely!
Friends and relatives are invited to attend Visiting Hours at the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence, on Friday December 6th from 10:00 am – 12:00 Noon. Burial will be private.
Elizabeth Vega, de 74 años, de Providence, falleció pacíficamente el domingo 24 de noviembre de 2024. Originaria de Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, era la querida hija de la fallecida Mercedes De Jesús y Juan Vega.
Elizabeth será recordada con cariño por su amabilidad y generosidad, siempre dispuesta a echar una mano, ya sea cocinando, decorando eventos o cuidando a niños pequeños. Tenía un corazón al que le resultaba difícil decir “no” a cualquiera que lo necesitara. Muchas jóvenes que se cruzaron en su camino apreciarán para siempre la sabiduría maternal que ella impartió a partir de sus propias experiencias de vida, especialmente aquellas que carecieron de una figura materna; muchos todavía se refieren a ella cariñosamente como ma, mamá o mami.
A Elizabeth le sobreviven sus devotos hijos, Pedro G. Ayala Jr. y Liza Torres, así como su querido nieto, Sebastyan Ayala. Ahora puede encontrar la paz junto a su difunta madre, quien falleció hace 24 años el 23 de noviembre, mientras compartían innumerables momentos hermosos juntos. ¡Te amamos Ely!
